No offence.
again thats where your majorly wrong,i do know what im doing and 6 years of succesful implementation of networks and mainstream domains for multi national companies is my proof!
like i said beforei know that some of your guys have experience im not saying they havent, whati am saying is when they do do something 9 times out of ten it makes my job harder to fix it! as everything that happens with atlas has to go through a process we cant skip or jump anything it has to be done by the book!
Re: DII(F) - Better or worse than the system you had?
Atlas
Seems we may have crossed paths at some stage.......... I assume from your comments about Astute you're part of the implementation team looking at Barrow? The same team who planned to install fibre across the floating dock? The same team that p**sed of the local BAe IT guys that they will no longer discuss anything directly with you and will only talk to H*** S**** the local estate Manager?
If DII is such a wonderful solution care to explain why both the current and future Bomber fleets have opted for an MOD owned and controlled system which is out of scope for (F) other than the fact the system chosen has 99.999% uptime, accredited (both in the UK and US) red and black solutions with RLI and SLI connectivity, an SLA counted in hours rather than days, full technical help desk support and costs less than a 6th of DII?
Thought not
Oh and as for MCSE............. come and see me in 5 years or so when you've got some experience on a system that actually works and I might be able to find you a job that pays properly

Re: DII(F) - Better or worse than the system you had?
We don't have DII yet, but we have been threatened with it. I have great misgivings about this. Every time that we have receive new hard ware or soft ware there has always been a c0ck up of one sort or another. Most of our problems stem from the fact that the Army seems to have a preference for buying off the shelf gear that is not quite up to the task for which it was bought, there then follows a period of "adjustment/fine tuning" which may or may not work.
I await DII with a sense of doom.

Well I'll say one thing for you, atlas_dus, you certainly seem as keen as mustard and if you have as good a mentality as you say, then good luck. 10 out of 10 for perseverance.

Funny I could swear that particular problem was identified sorted by an MOD Network Engineer a few of weeks ago, at the request of the estate manager, after the Implementation team screwed it up along with the wrong default gateway, leaving the NOC unable to connect to most of the boxes!
the reason it was complained about FUJITSU IMPLEMENTATION! PAIN IN THE ARSE AND FAILED TO DO EVEN the most of basic of tasks like labeling taps correctly so i can trace them back to the comms room.
From my contacts, the Implementation team have done a wonderful job.............
i deal with the BAE PEOPLE REGulary and they ont have any problems with me or DUS, its implementation that came up with that fine plan and its there problem t deal with it which if i heard right theyve given major headaches ot alot of people within BAE,
Giving BAe a headache must be the understatement of the year! I can't wait to hear the former DAWN user reactions to (F) over the next few weeks either! :D

I can forgive you making my eyes bleed and I can almost forgive you for constantly blaming everyone but Atlas for the problems with DII/F but that latter comment is crass beyond belief.
Atlas doesn't have any processes; they are made up on the hoof by whoever gets involved with the problem. If it had processes in place, it would be able to change them, refine them, tune them, improve them.
But it hasn't and it can't.
"Can I close your incident now, Sir?" means "I don't have a clue what to do with this and neither has the company but we have to meet our targets and I don't care about providing a service...."

Not entirely sure what DAWN is, but the happiest users using the system I work with are on ........... DII(F).

It's slow as fuck. However -
<<Rant mode on
I tried to log on to my (C) account today, to be told that I no longer existed. I called "the bloke in charge" - apparently it's because my (F) account is being set up and will take up to 48 hours.
Well, fuck me, that's useful.
A typical thing in my office tomorrow will go like:
"Can I have..."
"No"
"Can you sort my....."
"No"
"Can you check my...."
"No"
For the likes of you turds, that slate clerks for their lack of knowledge on JPA, I suggest you look further afield and look where the real culprits are.
