Believe me, I get spoken to regularly by the RSM as I'm a scruffy twat. Still don't see him/her as the link man to the troops. Probably because they aren't tradesmen any more. If training delivery became an RD trade I'd think differently...perhaps.

Bill, training delivery, although not a trade perse, is certainly what most RD types do in an CSR.

Because of the amount of training required, all qualled people in the 'RD world' are called upon as the Trg Wg haven't got the manpower to deal with it. Most other qualled blokes in the Unit (if not involved with trade and STA/T3 cascade trg) are used also.

As an aside, RTWO/SSI and Sgt's/JNCO's employed in the Wg's would see 'training delivery' as their primary role within the Unit. If not it would be pointless them being there.

Are the Trg Wg posts actual established posts, or are they "black economy"? I can see the RTWO, but beyond that?

Roadster, usually RTO. RTWO and sometimes SSI. It is something that in some Units work as people rotate through and it gives them valuable experience.

Quite often people from SSgt and below (again from what I have seen) tend to promote from it, so it can't be a bad thing.

Agreed, if people promote from it, but it does answer the point about the Corp's view of the world.

Not really, but I don't think they ever will.

It will only open up the age old arguement of forcing people down the supervisory route and only support trades going RD/Trg route.

Do we go down the REME Tiffy/Artisan/Regt Specialist route? It seems to work(ish) better than ours?

Artisans are capped at Staffy, IIRC. That won't go down so well with some!

No need to cap anyone, just spread the workload as HTB has pointed out is happening in JFCIS. On a recent Masters visit, was he accompanied by the Corps head of trade, nope the Corps RSM. What message does that send out?

Does it matter? A lot of blokes cap at Staffy anyway. ie failed Supervisors who aren't competitive enough on the RD roster due to previous streaming.

Well that's how it looked, but with 3 Corps Supervisors in office that weren't in attendance it looks to me that we don't care about our equipment and those who operate it.
