I remember the Pink Vampire incident and have a shrewd idea who was responsible. My lips are sealed, but suffice it to say that if you were to have looked at the J Tp W Tp and X Tp nominal rolls and identified the RTg and ROp tradesmen, some, at least, of them, would have been able to assist in your enquiries. Altogether an inside job, access to the X Tp garages secured, it is alleged, with the collusion of at least some of the crew of V5 itself.
Bars - Ingrid's boyfriend was John S***ds, who was a retired EW Op who'd come to rest in Celle, after splitting up with the redoubtable Mrs S***nds just after he was discharged. Horrible place.
The Gallerie was kept by an Egyptian guy who also owned the carpet warehouse next door. The red drink was the "Gallerietaufe" or "Gallerie Baptism" and was mainly Tabasco, Ratzeputz and red pepper. Horrible.
Other fine hostelries included the Bierakademie down by the Aller, good for girliecatching, the Kleine Apotheke, excellent for that vital 0300 dram and the casino under the Waldhotel.
Top place, Celle, despite the best efforts of 3 RGJ to f*ck it up for everyone.
We only f*cked it up for youse gang of mongs,we had a great time chasing your mob crying all the way back to ya lines lol in fact the only time your lot came out to play was to have a go at the youngsters left behind on rear party during our 84 N.I. tour ( and even then ya got battered lol )

Clearly an erudite man of significant intellect and literary craft. A man, I'm sure, the RGJ were inordinately proud of.
Anyway, I think I recognise a couple of posters on here. JT - were you on the old DEWOs at all or Block NCO for 3 Sqn circa 1990-92?
PaddyR - I've a funny feeling we possibly went through Harrogate and then onto 14 as our first posting?
The very same - would have been block NCO 90 - 91 for 3 Sqn, and I was on DEWO 1 ARMD DIV for most of my time (did a stint on the Rad Dets when I first got to the Regt).
You will probably remember Rick L***n our SSM - he was my manager at Orange for a few years, and we get together every now and again for a few beers and a catch up.
Heh. When you next see Rick L, remind him of having to drive back several km to a forest location to discover where his SMG had ended up after he drove off with it on the roof of his Rover :D
J.T - Without embarrassing you, have you "strawberry blonde" hair? I think you were Eddie T**ms or Gilly's Det Comdr?
The SSM when I first got to 14 was Mal G**r? Used to look out of the window on many a Saturday morning after a heavy night in the Sqn bar then Pigs Bar and see him beasting his nippers around the running track which circled the football pitch. Wouldn't have fancied crossing him out of uniform. Very approachable bloke, but I think everyone knew that it would be folly to mess with him.
You'll therefore remember Tim "Panhandle"? Now Capt Panhandle

Top bloke Mal. First time I met him one to one I was walking past his office when he shouted for me to come in, told me to strip off to my underpants, then close the door....before it was fully shut I could see the weighing scales behind it. After getting on the scales I was told I was the "missing" weight he needed for the boxing team (I was'nt, but he said he could fix that....).
Tim V. made Captain? Please tell me he did not end up marrying a violent, blonde Scottish bird.....?
I have a funny feeling that we possibly sparred then, Alsacien? As I got roped in straightaway for the 3 Sqn Boxing Team. Was it Langy where we went for a 2 week boxing camp and got utterly thrashed on a daily basis? I think that was just before Scotty Sher***d tipped up? I remember Dave Har**s being in the mire (again) and getting called upstairs to see Scotty. I was stood outside the clerks office (Dee?) when Dave marched in. Scotty said "head or body" and Dave opted for body. Cue Dave coming flying out of Scotty's office on his arris after taking a proper body shot. He didn't get up from it for several minutes. Haha.
Haha, yes, Tim is now El Capitano. Quite funny when you think back to him at 14 where he was a drunken mess on a daily basis. I think they did get married, but it didnt last very long (funny old thing) and he was single last time I saw him in Blandford. Top quality bloke though.

Yeah I was on that little jaunt, what weight were you, I'm thinking heavy....?
She dumped her Welsh PTI hubby John for Tim, total psycho she was, tried to kill me once while pished up on vodka.
Hard to imagine Tim being responsible for himself, yet alone anybody else
