I served in 14 Sigs (3 sqn) from 87-93 and had a great time, was mainly on the rebros/hf wagons, was a great posting, the only posting that bettered 14 was 29 Sigs (Berlin) which was my first posting 85-87.

Jackets had gone when I got there -it was the Angle Irons who were OK, except when their boxing team tried to knok over a lamp post using Geordie W***** as a battering ram. Nasty business.
Don't remember any chess playing wierdo's in the Bierakademie - but I remember the bar. It's where we went for our first post Granby drink - recreated the scene from Ice Cold In Alex - you know, where John Mills and co knock back the Carlsberg in a one-er, except we did it with Warsteiner, ah, can still taste it now!

We had to crash the Vamp into the trailers to dislodge them from the ice. Camnets folded up to about 4 times their normal size, guy ropes were as thick as a broom handle. It was shortly after on Flying FekkUp/Morning Glory when Maj Bluff OC 1 Sqn decided to deploy the jammers too close to the IGB and proceeded to jam elements of 3 Shock Army. I was bricking in when a Noduf call came in to redeploy to our active edge locations, and being told by the SQMS M**k F****r that we were being issued with live ammo. Oh the joys of nearly starting WWIII. Funnily enough, the resultant comms activity at FSL prevented Bluff from getting the immediate sack.
Hell's teeth - I remember all that - though not involved, as I was in 3 Sqn at the time! The smeg hit the fan good and proper

Remeber all the bars mentioned spent most of my time in Ingrids, popcorn and the sort of nite club.
Any one remember the pub near hanover and use to get a keg of beer delivered to the table. Happy Days

Remember it well. I was a sprog and 14SR was my first posting. Was taught how to drink hard even though I was a grand old age of 17.
I remember the pink disgrace blocking my path on my way to the NAAFI.
