Just let it go, get down the museum/PRI and buy a nice stable belt theres a good lad, no need for the stupid leatherman to hang off it either (dont want to look like a YofS now do you?).
What would you describe RAF Akrotiri as then?
    A shithole!

    Dirtyfilthymech,

website from your link is out of date. Suggest you read RSIN dated 01 Sep 09.

Anyway, its a line belt. Never heard of a mech belt.

    edit for spelling

TeleMechs worked line. They laid it and repaired it from exchanges, comcens etc to end users.: PLOH, UG, coaxial, internal and external as well as combat line (D10, 10 pair et al) and equipment.

In fact, Combat Lineys were not the successors to the original Linemen but Telemechs were so they did have the right and did wear line belts.

Gone but not dead apparently as there are reunions, exclusive to them, every year.
Thanks to all who read my little contributions and don't shout nasty words at me, it means so much and I like the likes. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for their tremendous support throughout my career and without whom I would not be standing here today. Also my agent, she's been my rock.

Do be careful though as Hector and his clique may descend upon you with their stock in trade proclamations of your inherent inferiority. And as it's the internet, they get off on it.

    Fair enough.
"I firmly believe that we should not march into Baghdad. To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day Arab hero. Assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an unwinnable urban guerrilla war." That job is done by civvies now.

Linies and Mechs are gone. Get over it. Roll with the times.

Anyone know how to get the old style of belt with the straps rather than the buckle?
If it sounds like a good idea - do it. It's easier to apologise than it is to get permission.

If you're not confused you're not paying enough attention

    What he said.

Fact remains that the Telecommunications Mechanic and Driver Lineman trades are no more. No liney trials = no line belt.

My name is Moe, although some women like to call me 'Hey you in the bushes!'
