Thanx for making the effort to contribute to the discussion without resorting to calling my manhood into question or suggesting that i might be a throw back to the Crimean era! :D

Wot is this obsession people seem to have with "manning up"? You're missing the point bud. The loose point behind this topic is "standards" and the fact that it seems incredulous to expect a SNCO to instill and enforce them while wearing a tatty piece of twisted material over their otherwise immaculate uniform.
The thing is such an obvious piece of "tat", that it would be impossible for all but Stevie Wonder not to notice it! And there twosugarsnomilk.... is the point. It's not about "manning up".... it's about the fact that it now appears acceptable for the Garrison Orderly Sergeant to cut about this TRAINING establishment looking like a sack of crap!

Badges on sashs look gash anyway.....
As do sashs and sticks with Combat 95.
Something we mused about the other day, when one of lads was on duty.... is there anything that would look smart and soldier like, that we could replace the sash and stick with?
Or could we just go for ROS in barracks again? (and the RP staff).
"God makes me feel pain because I cheat at darts."
Shacks, pub in Krefeld where you got a Steak breakfast after being on the piss all night in CK's, 2000.
Said shortly after approaching the dartboard to retrieve his darts, violently sneezing, which caused him to headbutt the wall & then twatting his head off a wall lamp when his head came back up. The cheating cunt...............

Having been GOS recently, yes the sash is falling to bits and I reported it as such. THere is no NSN for a blue sash (red, yes). It has been noted and moves are afoot to procure a new one. If you have found some on the Inter-porn at a low price then please let the GSM know rather than bleating about SNCOs having no spine.

No we dont. I have seen a few provo's wear them over the years but its not the norm. Not sure about when in No 1's but unless your on Palace duty, getting married or jumping through flaming straw in the White Helmets you wouldnt wear them.
It is my understanding that the sash it to represent the wearing of a sword and is not worn by support arms or services. Happy to be corrected though if in error.
Aren't the Royal Corps of Signals considered to be a teeth arm as they were derived from the Royal Engineers despatch riders? So under that argument Sigs SNCO are entitled to wear sashes as directed????

GT2001.... obviously you're entitled to an opinion bud.... i assume you got that one from an earlier post here! Do at least try and be original eh. I look forward to posting just such a dumb-ass comment under any future topic you might choose to initiate.

Reported it as such eh Knave.... good man! You join a long and distinguised list of people that have been *reporting it for the past 5 years when the thing first started to fray.
You will find that a considerate member has already posted a link to a potential online contact under this topic. Failing that, i'm sure the GSM is more than capable of typing "military sash" into his search engine! Go on.... try it. And in fairness to the current GSM.... this thing was a tatty article long before he took office.
As an aside.... can i just confirm that i have never once implied that SNCO's have no spine! Bit defensive there mate?
* Refers to conversation i can personally vouch for between Radio Group SSM and two Radio Group SME's!

Yes, I certainly thought so.
I was just wondering as to when/why RE were considered to be a teeth-arm?
