Besides, other then typing V by mistake, and not knowing when the FAA gave up its FG1's (which were catapult aircraft for short take off and landing), im not far off.
You are further away than the RAF were on CAP over the task force in 82.
Haven't had an accident in years. See a lot in my rear view mirror though.

It's very unlucky to be superstitious.

Basically, what you were saying is that there's some way Phantoms could have been taken with the task force on CORPORATE. They couldn't. Invincible and Hermes had ski jumps, not cat-and-traps, so there's absolutely no fucking way CATOBAR jets could have flown off them. Simples.

Not that far off, my assumption about the period was almost correct, HMS Hermes was originally going to take F-4's. But of course was mistaken in thinking it could. Sorry about that.

Perhaps Squip is slightly confused by the FG1 having an extendible nose wheel oleo leg, allowing a short take of from a short UK carrier.

Without which it conceivably could be classed as a VSTOL Phantom (Very short take Off and landing, all in one go).

Well i didnt mean 'Very short', i honestly typed V meaning vertical as i am a mong and probably because iv used the acronym with harriers to much. Im sure that landing on Ark would make it Stol?

Which bit of catapult launch and arresting do you struggle with?

Hitch a Ford Cortina up the the cat and the fucker will get airborne, but that doesn't make it a STOL Cortina.
