Like i said, sorry about typing it with a V, its how its been said so often. I meant short take off short landing catapult system, STOL, i believed the hermes to have as the Ark royal did used by F-4 G1's.
Id post a pic of them back in the day but cant figure how to add pictures. They were a short take off and landing aircraft on carriers.Last edited by Squip; 21-04-2012 at 11:04.

Do you also think that Hermes and Ark Royal were the same vessel?
I will try to be polite about this.
You are talking complete gibberish based upon an utterly false understanding of historical facts. Historical facts that can be easily ascertained upon a 5 minute google expedition.
Now, to base any analysis and commentary upon these blatant falsehoods just makes you look a complete prat.
I hope you have the sense to step back from ARRSE for a few moments and do a bit of research before you come back with your words of 'wisdom' and cutting-edge commentary.

Not the same but of a similar period. I dont have much time to research 50 year old carriers so of course id be mistaken about some things such as Hermes not getting the fit for Phantoms. Besides, other then typing V by mistake, and not knowing when the FAA gave up its FG1's (which were catapult aircraft for short take off and landing), im not far off.
