I know it's no consolation but most of us who work there know the food suck's and the accommodation is

but generally we just go introduce our heads to the nearest brick wall, for the same effect as talking to the management.

I was thinking of sticking myself on a quad course there.

Maybe i'll sack it and cuff it in theatre. Who's going to stop me out in a FOB?

i have the miss fortune of going there for a 7 week long bowman adv sig cse soon , and have heard all of the horror stories from the other guys coming from there that even full screws have to march to and from the classes etc???? wtf!?!?!

Ahhh Miss Fortune brings back fond memories for me. I am shocked to hear that you have her for 7 weeks.

Full Corporals in the British Army? Marching in a Phase 2 training establishment? Where Phase 2 recruits are still being trained? Next you'll be telling me that SNCO's attending CLM cse's have to do it as well. Surley there is a paragraph that can be learnt chapter and verse in QR's that precludes the need for us to just get on with it and accept the fact that we joined the British Army and not the American one. If we can't find one I do offer another solution, it's called "taking it to the RSM and telling him what you think of his scheme to go marching up and down the square". Leconfield maybe a shithole, but why certain people insist on whining about having to walk in step and park where they are fcuking told to is beyond me? Does the words 'British Army' mean so fcuking little to you that you feel it pertinent to whine like a bitch on heat every time you have to do what you are fcuking told. There are servicemen dying on a weekly basis, facing hardships that some of us can only imagine and you are griping about having to walk in step. There are servicemen out there who haven't got their legs and you complain about having to use yours in a smart uniform and soldier like manner. Capt Norton GC would probably give anything to have the chance to march with his muckers again. Suck it up and fcuking get on with it!

Nobody is disputing the fact that is a Phase 2 establishment for some capbadges and those recruits should be treated as such. Royal Engineers undergo a bloody hard phase2 which is physically and mentally demanding. Why should they be treated the same as the rest of the phase 2s? Class 3 Combat Engineers are trained soldiers and up until a few years ago Combat Engineer was a stand alone trade.

What is being moaned about is kn0bhead RP Cpls who think that they are God (and who would be filled in if they talked like that to anybody in a normal unit), gobshi'ite civvy storeman who go out of their way to bill people and complain when they have to do their job, the amount of time that students are kept waiting between phases, the websters tasks that are dished out to students waiting to start their respective training and some of the stupid rules that are enforced. Yes, DST is a training establishment but there should be a bit of common sense applied.

So what are you proposing then sweet cheeks? That they enforce one rule for one group and one rule for another? Do you wish to see thousands of students just milling around and bimbling to and from lessons. As I pointed out earlier you are in the British Army either embrace it or fcuk off. I am sick to death of hearing petty little whinges about he made me do this and he made me do that and heaven forbid I had to fcuking march! I couldn't give a shit what Corps, Capbadge, Arm or Service you come from, you are in the British Army. Your Corps might heap accolade after accolade on their phase 2's - mine choose not to, they are not trained soldiers end of fcking equation. Guess what else? If phase 2's are doing it then you should be setting an example. I doubt very much you are being asked to march arms shoulder high with your necks back in the collar and bags of swagger. At the establishment I work at SNCO's and below are all expected to be able to move around camp as a uniform body of soldiers not a fcuking riff raff that looks like it strolled in from RAF Brize Norton like a sack of shit tied in the middle. The RP's might be pricks, guess what? It's part of the job description. Too often we hear from soldiers on arrse that the army isn't what it used to be and that standards are eroding, yet 9 times from ten them very same soldiers haven't got the bottle to reinforce the standards that we lament. Perhaps if Cpl's and Sgt's had the fcuking bollox to do the right thing and fcuking grip people rather than turning the other cheek there wouldn't be a need for a one size fits all solution policed by RP's who in all fairness are probably better employed somewhere else. I might come across as pissed off, I am. All you have to whinge about is poxy fcuking regime where you get a licence that will serve you well for the rest of your career and yet you still fail to take the point that compared to others (probably in your Corps) your life is fcuking sweet. You have your health and and a wage in your pocket a roof over your napper and very cheap food in your belly. If the worst thing in your life is having to walk in step then you are a very lucky man and should fcuking think on before whining about fcuk all. Are you seriously telling me that the Corps of Royal Engineers areallowed to bimble from class to class like a sorry shower of shit? I very much fcuking doubt it! Or is it that you are pissed off that the RLC (that lowliest of Corps) have the gumption and audacity to make you behave like a soldier? My Corps (The Royal Logistic Corps) is working fcuking hard to drag an undeserved reputation up to a standard where it can hold it's head higher than high thing and it's producing the goods in Iraq Afghanistan etc what we won't be accused of is allowing our standards to slip and I have the tiniest inclanation that your Corps is exactly the fcuking same. If it's that bad, make sure you fill out your course critique and RTFcukingU. In the meantime try setting an example to those soldiers who aspire to be like you.
