Its not the place that is dull it is the unit, we all know that op tours must come round and round (and round0 but that does not mean that we should all hang around and be dull. Just because some like to engage in sports that can only be enjoyed at an individual level doesnt mean that the rest have to become specialist in watching!!

    I’m intrigued.

I visiting next week and I will take a neutral look and see if Outstanding has a point. Having had a long chat with a few WOs from the regiment the pace of the place and the unique nature of the Regiment may take its toll after a while.

However I will look with an open mind.

I totally enjoyed my time at 9 Regt.

I moved there with 9 Ord Bn from Corsham, then the RLC / 9 Regt formed and a great time was had by all...!

There were characters there at the time, great Mess / Social / Rugby / down town in chippers was a cracking night out, Rose & Crown landlord / landlady / staff looked after us all brilliantly.

Sounds like the Regt needs a laugh !

Have those two lads returned yet?

One was a dopehead and the other was his mate.

Might be better not to continue that line of investigation mind.

Is the accomodation still WW2 vintage 20 man rooms divided by wooden partitions that don't make it all the way to the roof?

    Re: 9 Regt Hullavington

After my trip to very Sunny 9 Regt today I have to report a very busy regiment with happy smiley faces. The lads I spoke to were addressing historical problems and trying to balance Ops with changes in capability.

In essence no different to any regiment I have visited in the last 5 years perhaps a little ground hog day but without a proper dependency I assumed it would be. Mind you it was very sunny and I think Sqn sports and BBQ were the order of the day.

I’m not saying Outstanding does not have a point because I was only there a few hours and everyone is nice to me, don’t know why.
