Single accomodation is shocking, married quaters are now full they now put you 40 miles away at Arborfield but if your lucky to get one here all the best for ya. Day to day life is quiet here currently 4 Regt are on tour with 12 following later this year and 3 after them so most of the camp and local are will be quiet for the next year. When you posted and where if 3 LSR look forward to busy times ahead training up for H18 early next year.

Dad always claims it was the building of the precinct that started the rot if not the inner ring road bit (Stratton Way?). I have very fond memories of The Horse & Jockey pub (now shut) where Masters from School did not venture so they didn't have to bust us for drinking and The Punchbowl where we used the back bar & the Masters the front for similar reasons.Abingdon Sevens is still a good day out, although it is where some Chipping Norton people spat at me & verbally abused me when I was officiating there one year, a rather unpleasant experience as it was my first time out refereeing!
Referee abuse at a rugby match is discraceful. If you experience this again, just refuse to continue with the game, it tends to get club officials involved pdq. Good luck with the whistle
