    Transfer to RAMC and promotion

I recently transferred from being an infantry rcmt to RAMC as a pte soldier, I was posted back to my battalion and continued working in the med centre but in a lcpl pid, I was informed by other rcmts on a recent courses that I would have to be promoted as only lcpl and above can work in a medical centre, just wondered if anyone knows what the score is, cheers

unless things have changed, you usually get promoted on merit rather than there being a vacancy, you could get acting rank, although Ive seen many Pte RAMC soldiers working in Med Centres.

Go and see the RCMO. By doing this it will stop any expections you may have or indeed be sold by these means.

Pretty sure as a private you can work in a med centre, however if you are in a LCpl PID and have been recommended for promotion then it would be reasonable to expect to be given supp pay or acting rank.
