Alright, got another Q for you...
If I were to start Phase 1 in January (I assume intakes are still Sept/Jan/May?), how long does it take on average to get to the end of Phase 2? I know what dates the ArmyJobs website and the AFCO will give, but I'd like an answer that uses "Real" information.
I only ask because I've heard a couple of horror stories about ending up sat around at Bordon for months on end doing sweet FA. (Granted that these were about 7 years ago and for RM/VM's, but its still a worrying thought).
Also, anyone got answers for my previous two questions?

ill stick to your hypothetical date of January 2011 for a start of phase one, which would mean you start phase 2 at arborfield in April 2011, with common foundation, tech foundation, basic electronics, then avionics courses which take minimum 24 months, on top of that you have military training and any time you have in between course that could add up to about 6 weeks, ur looking at May 2013 as a rough guess.

There's a lot of work going on looking at ways of reducing the length of tech elect/Av training. Don't panic the old and bold! Reductions through using modern technology and teaching methods (don't get too excited, think Y2K upgrade from pre-decimalisation) rather than removing course content (although that is also likely). I would put AJ-Ws 24 months as a max rather than min. That said, take a look at the surplus techs thread. You might want to have a back up plan. Do you like the heady mix of fertiliser, sugar, petrol and pressure plate triggered firing circuits?
I still wear grey Y-fronts.

The Oxford English Dictionary by the looks of it. Without wanting to come across too pedantic, you're just about to spend 18 months in a classroom environment doing projects and assignments. Please write facking English.
As for what to take or read, read this thread. There is plenty of advice but the general concensus is that you should instead concentrate on your phys, enjoy your last bit of freedom and be prepared for phase 1.Ezekiel 25:17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
