If you read the kitlist it states that socks worn when in uniform or doing PT will be issued. I suppose you need a couple pairs of your own when the above doesn't apply.

make up removing wipes, great for de-basterdizing cam cream at the end of the day. i'd go for Simple ones, you can get them in superdrug.

As much as it seems sensible to take a simplifier like wet/make up wipes, from what I've read on here a few times, depends on whether your training team will allow the use of them, apparently some do some don't.

take some scotch bright to clean your rifle, makes life so much easier. they wouldnt give us any, we had to do it the hard way.

Do a Mike Golden and turn up at depot with chest-webbing, mags, cam cream and desert trops ready to deploy. And don't forget to call anyone with stripes on their arm 'mate' or geezer.

Oh, make sure your razor is one of those Mach 3 Gucci ones with 25 blades. Easiest way in the world to get show-parade (if they still do them), is to miss the tiniest bit. It was all Bic disposables in my day- shite. Top tip -ask a mucker to lick your face after shaving, if he can feel anything on his tongue you haven't done it properly

The only thing i havnt bought yet is padlocks, and my credit card just expired so need to renew it, and that will take a couple weeks so need to get my dad to forward the new card onto me, hopefully not a problem as they dont usually pay into your bank until week 6-7?

For the love of god get combination locks! Robertdyas in most high streets do a very robust one that wont break the bank...

And dont use your MOD number in the combination
