Re: Were are you with your application process? - From app to P1
Anyone been to Ripon for Pre-Selection? I'm going on Saturday. My run time's 11:30 at best, it'll probably improve running with others, and I don't think I can do heaves, maybe one or two. Does anyone know what sort of level they're looking for? I'm going for a job in the "fourteen minute run" group, I know I'll have to do a lot better than that, but I just wondered how high a standard is expected.

Yeah, it's after ADSC. Some trades have an additional selection process. I'm going for EHT in the RAMC, which is one of those trades. Your recruiter would probably have told you if your job choice has a selection board that you need to go to.

All they are looking for is for you to show that you realy want to be in the army, as long as you pass the run and communicate on the team tasks ( come up with a plan, add ideads to a plan, or even just motivate your team) Your heaves will be fine, dont ask why but they only want you to do at least one (BUT do as many as possible)...For the jerry cans DO NOT DROPP then or youl be back the following week. Be assertive and as the recruiting questions. All they want to see is a determind, self motivated person that is likely to pass the proper selection & basic training... So put 100% EFFORT in at all times and youll be allright mate ! :P

They're just looking for a decent fitness level at that stage, and determination. Just focus all you're effort on the run, team tasks and icebreaker.
Good luck

Stuck now.
Okay, so I've recently signed up and I've finished my medical forms and my BARB test and the guys at the careers office said as soon as they get my medical forms then they'd contact me to arrange an interview, but it's now been over a week since I did the BARB test and my doctor sent my medical forms off two days prior to me doing the tests. How long will it take for them to get in contact with me? It feels like I've been waiting forever.

Re: Stuck now.
Wait four weeks then chase them up, or if you want to get it all in a hurry pester the surgery every day to get your quack to fill in the sheets, remember the all the doc has to do is put your med history in a tick box, if your med history is clear its about 1 min worth of labour from your doc

Re: Stuck now.
My doctor has finished and sent them off, because I checked in with him on the day of my tests, and it won't have taken a week for my forms to get down to the careers office in the post even with 2nd post mail. I live pretty close to where it is.
It's just all this waiting and being nagged off my mum to get a job while I wait and stuff. I just wanna go :D.----
