    PASSED Selection at Pirbright today..!!

    :D :D

Ran a 9.49 on the 1.5miler and came in 5th out of 27, 1st guy did it in 9.26 so nothing too fast. Only did a measley 2 heaves too, didn't do a single Heave before I went, so could have been better. Wasn't told what grade I got, nor did I ask, as it was very rushed and I was just pleased to get that Certificate :P Phoned the AFCO to ask about any ideas on Phase 1 intake Date, but I will have to wait for an unknown amount of time, im cool with that though! Taking this weekend off too as im aching like mad :D Will be having a few pints later, well deserved I reckon as I gave up 78 days ago.

Will let you's know my Phase 1 date as soon as I get it!

    Cheers again :D
Well done! What job are you going for?

Don't know about being an awesome runner but all I did in preparation for Selection was a half mile warm up of just a light jog, then battered out the 1.5miler. I did it -Every 2nd- night without fail for roughly 60 odd days before ADSC, never did any running before then. I personally wouldn't bother with any longer distances, it wouldn't hurt of course, but you only do 1.5m at Selection so work on that and you should be fine, instead save your 3 milers and 6 milers in prep for Phase 1, well that's what im doing anyway.

Got my first job choice for the R Sigs as a Comms System Op :D I got 22 out of 55 on the TST. I sh!t you not, not just myself but everyone who did it found it pretty hard I was sure on, at the most, 12 questions, so I would say I honestly guessed the other 43, luckily though you get 4 answers from A to D, so I must have got between 10-12 right just from guessing. I did however totally forget to revise, which may have fumbled me but in all honesty I never did the majority of the stuff on the TST at School. A pass is a pass though

My -No Booze- campaign ended with not 78 days in the end it was 82 :D had 5 tasty Pints last night, but that's it though for me, in prep for Basic, as I feel I want to get an all round more physical ability after seeing what Selection had to throw at me. Well excited for Phase 1..!! :D

Well I decided I want to join the Royal Signals as a Technician today, my freinds are making me feel like a wimp for not going for a more combat based roll but the job suits my interests and I noticed on the job description that a future prospect is that you can volunteer for the marines or paratroopers. So if I am in service and feel the need to waste some taliban I suppose there is always that. Anyway, my application process is no where other than a good bit of research on every role in the army, and general life as a regular soldier. I am going to set myself a strict training regime and start it ASAP, and I am looking to speak to the local recruitment on the coming weekend. The main part of being a soldier I don't know much about is actually the joining part so hopefully I will learn as much as possible about that before the weekend

I was originally wanting to join with The Royal Engineers but somehow got swayed to Ammo Tech? Which isnt all that bad because after doing alot of research into the RLC ive decided its what i want to go for. How about yourself HHH?

Oh cool I am joining the RLC , I need to get my head down and learn more about the corps I guess I want to be a chef, the guy at my AFCO told me to put admin down as 2nd choice, I didn't think too much and put it,then third the Royal Artillery as a light gunner, that sounded like awesome fun, should have placed it at my 2nd choice I guess :P
