My god they will still using them when I went ADSC in April! I have been out of the loop for a few months and its all changed! Good thing though, there was a post on ARRSE not to long ago how it seemed that the train companies were putting through ridicolously high prices for the tickets!
Re: Were are you with your application process? - From app t
Hi folks.
My first post on Arrse. Paid a visit to my local AFCO yesterday, made the decision there and then to re-enlist. Completed my application, BARB and basic skills by lunchtime!
I'm re-enlisting following a medical discharge (shin splints) 6 years ago. My AFCO recruiter, a very pleasant WO1 called Dave, says my application depends on Glasgow giving me the all clear (a "203" he called it). Sadly, replies take around 12-14 weeks so my application will stall for a bit.
I don't foresee the cause of my previous MD being an obstacle because I train in kickboxing twice every day, as well as teaching it; I run 3 miles every couple of days and even do a 5 mile tab in boots carrying 10 kg once a week!
I'm applying for the Intelligence Corps and was advised I have to attend an additional selection at Chicksands - anyone here done that yet?

Cheers.
Nope but I will be soon! Have a look on the Int Corps board mate, there is all the information you need for the Chicksands selection (and more) on there.
Re: Were are you with your application process? - From app to P1
haha seems like everyone applies for Int Corps as their first choice. I'm thinking about just scrapping that idea and going with my second choice I'll get ADSC out of the way and then make my decision.
Re: Were are you with your application process? - From app t
I got the letter to give to my GP today - they want quite a catalogue on me!
1) Information about sickleave this year. (A few weeks due to tonsilitis.. followed by shingles.. followed by tonsilitis. (The tonsilitis didn't die out with the first course of antibiotics as they were cut short for anti-virals for the shingles)) They just want to ensure that this was remedied correctly.
Should be fine. It was diagnosed and treated fine and I've been fine ever since!
2) Mental health issues. (They want to ensure that I haven't had any issues since I had counselling via the NHS in 2004/2005)
I passed my medical last year, so this should be fine. I even had a letter at the end of my counselling saying that I responded well to counselling and that she was pleased with my progress.
Since then, there have been no issues - so I should be alright!
3) Self-Harm/Abuse. (Following on from above, they want to ensure that I never self-harmed)
I've never self-harmed. So this should be fine
4) Problems with my knee following a fall (I fell when I was about 12 and bashed my knee on a really small tree stump. I couldn't walk for over a week and had 2 hospital visits. It was only Soft Tissue Damage but I was told to come back to hospital if I couldn't walk a few days later.)
Passed my medical last year fine! I have never had any issues since - in the last 5 years. So this should be fine too!
So fingers cross, the GP can get on to this and fire of a response for it to clear within the next few weeks - ready for my recruiter when he gets back from his holiday!
Even though I know that each of the above issues are remedied and have been for a number of years, its still scary to see them in writing like that! I passed last year, and I should pass this year though! [God I have regrets about not following it last year!]

wow wow wow.
it took me a while to catch up.
I had to go to a friends funeral today, all religious and such - found it quite hard but aye, i even managed to avoid the drink.
& smiler - im not happy about this! who else am i going to bully for 14weeks eh?! you've left me in the dark here :(
since im on a roll about having a rant, i was jogging down the road earlier & got yelled at by a flaming builder,
totally tempting to run across the road and twat him round the head with something sharp.
i hope nobody in here is a builder or anything, otherwise FYI : i HATE YOU
still got my run time down at 10minutes something, never been happier.
does anyone know how much i've got to be able to lift (weightwise) for ADSC?
'cause ATM im only benching like 45kg
got heaves up to 15 in 2mins (still isnt good but gimme a break).
medical 'more info' letter gets here on Tuesday & i officially have no nails left!!

Thank you, and good luck with your upcoming Int Corps selection.
I searched the Int Corps board but couldn't find much regarding the specifics of the written & verbal assessments that take place at Chicksands.

I heard competition for places is fierce. Apparently there are five applications for every vacancy. My recruiter seemed intent on switching my choice to Communication Systems Engineer (Signals) or Geographical Technician (Engineers). Likewise, I'll get ADSC done then make my choice.

Is it me or are you fishing for someone to come away with a sexist comment AMX, Ive read you saying similar comments on your other posts. No one has said anything against your fitness
45kg is not a bad bench and your run time, considering you've not even had your Med Forms back, is not bad at all!?
As I said, no one has actually said your shite, so your "break" is well deserved mate!? :D
