My son has a contract with O2 which until this month I have paid. I am responsible for it till he is 18 years old when he can have it in his name. But as of next month the ayments will be doing from his account!

    Hi,
My daughter has a 3g contract on 3 network, unlimited texts, 200 cross network minutes, unlimited internet, 3000 free 3 to 3 calls - they sent a free 3 sim PAYG - decent fone, unlimited skype for £18 a month. Generally reception ok, can have decent conv and texts are frequent. :D

    Hope this helps

How strange...... i just said to my husband (after our call from JS tonight) "He seems so grown up!" He was asking our advice about insurance etc! He even text me prior to that and said.... "I'll phone you in a bit but I need to get my priorities right!" Who is this child???????

No paint balling or go-carting for his coy this weekend! :(

Hi ashman initially my son was with Orange PAYG. His phone bills just seemed to escalate month on month (hmm strange I didn't get that many calls ) I came to an arrangement with him that if he promised to put some money aside each month (to save up for a car and as a safety net should his phone usage exceed his monthly quota) then I would be his guaranteur on a contract phone. He agreed and went with Vodafone and had good coverage whilst at AFC both for internet and calls.

In addition to this he also got a T mobile mobile broadband for his laptop (again great reception). The advantage of T mobile, I found at the time, was that they didn't charge for any excess usage....yes they notified him when he went over and warned him his speeds would be reduced if he contiued to exceed his allocated amount but there was no actual additional charge. Looking at their offers on phones and contracts and knowing that my son never had any connection issues with broadband personally I think I would be suggesting some of their offers to him (e.g 1000 mins + unlimited texts for £25 a month). Shop around though as I'm sure you can probably get better than this is you go through some of the comaprison sites.

btw The savings account is still going and so far he has yet to "dip" into it. It was a good bargaining position lol

    happy hunting xx

My son is pay as you go Vodaphone, £20 a month, 300 mins and unlimited texts, he says reception is ok, saves getting into contracts when you dont have to.
