Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Hi
I have to agree, the saying goodbye was very short and a bit of a shock! I wouldn't have been so quick to see the presentation had I known they were going to do that!
I work in a primary school and every first day I tell parents to leave quickly it's the best way...but saying it and doing it for yourself are 2 differnt things!!!

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Hi Angie I said to my son mark everything trust nobody until you know who you are living with, we labelled his ironing board thats the one thing we didnt mark permanently, poor things are so worried any way and things like this can make it even more uncomfortable for them, NAFFI prices for the ironing board then

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Just had a text, she not allowed to go to shop just yet....
Coudnt believe it everything was labelled with permanent marker, and some things more than once so it was visible. More frustrated with response from platoon who say nothing can be done.
Just gona have to let it go and make sure everything is locked securely at all times

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Angi - how frustrating!! Poor thing - how long is it until they can use the shop Surely for something like this she could be allowed!
If number 1 son ever contacts I will remind him to make sure he keeps an eye on his stuff
Life is hard enough for them without soething like this to cope with

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Hi everyone, it it going to take me ages to keep up with all the newies but so glad you have all joined, mine is also 16 platoon peninsula (janlou pm sent), lisa71 you have posted yours is in 14 (i thought he was in 16 same as mine), anyway it was nice to meet you on Sunday, it was weird recognising someone just from an internet forum. The lost ironing board :- seems a bit strange, how can an ironingboard go missing?????, maybe it will turn up EVENTUALLY, my son took a pink and white one (lol), but i marked it underneath with permanent pen.
He has phoned, enjoying it but also said it was boring, but we expected that. He has already lost his name tag but somehow i think they will soon remember his name lol. Remember everyone if you dont hear much from them you still have us!.... xx

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Hi
just had a text from my son saying it's been really boring today as well. I'd have thought they'd have kept them busy.
Really glad I came on here though, it helps to know there are so many of us in the same boat!

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Angi, sorry to hear of the slight mishap re your daughters ironing board. Is there a possibility that the bored has just been mislaid somewhere? I say that because with the arrival of over 800 JS's turning up yesterday, there is a chance it could be in with another company/section/platoon - chaos is the word that comes to mind! Plus, it would be very silly for any new recruit to go and 'steal' something within hours of their arrival at AFC(H)

I do hope the ironing bored does turn up somewhere because JS's, their irons and boards do get very attached to each other! :D
Good luck to all you new parents who have joined, especially to all you new Cambrai Mums.

Re: Parent - Advice and Chat in here
Hi everyone
Had quite a few text from our js. He asked if we were ok (something that has never crossed his mind before) He also says its a bit boring doing the admin but I keep reminding him its easy money when your stood around doing nothing.
He is in 15 Platoon Peninsula. he was chuffed to get a window bed space, first come first served was the order of the day.He has a good signal from there too, not so good in other bed spaces. Apparently the mash was not upto his dads standards though. His older brother has already pinched his moped.
