Hi, just been to my docs, 2 year ago i got kiked in nut, had my ultrasound etc like 4 month back, everything was fine. I just been to my doctors there worrying about the definitan etc of chronic pain, She told me bascialy she wouldnt class me as having it,, you usualy get classed as having chronic pain when you get older with the pain she said .... :s , I know you get defered for life if youve had chronic scrotal pain, Basicaly the specialst wrote down that i was having pains on and off for 2 years and that nothing was found , no lumps etc. What are your thoughts, would the army meds class this as chronic... Basicaly she told me if you dont tell them anything about past pain you will get in, She said they have got access to the records but go off your questionare and 9 time sout of 10 dont check the records on file, only if ifs something like asthma etc... I am taking a letter up saying that my tests where fine and the doctor wrote on that i got refered to specialst becaue i got kicked in the testicle 2 years ago. :/ ta

Sh1t mate sounds like you've had a hard life.....oj. I have fucked teeth myself got my front one knocked out in a brawl about 2 years ago...I've got it capped now so its half the original tooth and half a cap. I've also got a small cavity in one of my back teeth, I think. Not to sure though because I had lots of work done at the start of the year 2 fillings and the cap replaced and he never mentioned nothing about the one I have self diagnosed, no pain from it etc just looks like the a grey plus sign on the tooth though. I hate the dentist though, when I get work done on teeth they seem to be worse than before they were drilled into. For example when I got the cap replaced on my front tooth, instead of just replacing the cap from the original he drilled into my half tooth more to get a better fixing for the new cap. But whilst doing it he drilled in to my nerve. 4 days later I had excruciating pain from the tooth, I couldn't eat or nothing, went back told me I had an abscess. I said well whats caused that, he said when you get a bang on the tooth you get them. I said, well I never had a bang on it it has been fine for 2 years then you go and replace it and this happens. He wouldn't admit that he had drilled into the nerve, blaming it on the previous bang 2 years ago. I got a second opinion and that dentist told me he had drilled far to deep and gone into the nerve. I hate dentists for that reason. Anyway the original dentist put me on crap antibiotics for a week they done nothing for me pain got worse so went back, said the antibiotics were shite and I want something doing about it. This had now cost me over 100 quid and there was still excruciating pain. Anyway I demanded stronger antibiotics, got them and within 2 days my tooth was back to normal abscess had gone and pain had gone. After that it was 2 weeks of route canal work which isnt the nicest. What gets me is why the hell didn't he put me on the stronger antibiotics in the first place and why the hell wouldn't he admit he made the mistake.

Re: All MEDICAL chat & queries in here please.

Have just got my medical forms today and have made an appointment with the doc to fill it out when i'm there.

Two possible things that could cause issues:

I had an ultrasound on my heart 4 1/2 years ago, it didnt show anything significant (i.e. i wasnt diagnosed with anything), could this defer me? or rule me out totally?

    also
3 years ago i had a minor issue with my knee, had 2 sessions of physio and has been fine since, was just a growing issue really. again could this defer me or cause any issues at all?

Just want to get a picture of what to expect in the next few months

To begin with , welcome to the enjoyable part of the application process. For most the worst part of it is waiting in anticipation for them to annouce you "medically suitable"...Mine took about 1months + 1/2weeks, but that was due the ADSC requiring more information on a couple things on my med history.

In the case of your "heart ultrasound" i understand it as being the equivalent of an Echocardiogram (ECG)? If so, i wouldn't worry too much , i had an ECG prior to an Op... as the doc thought i had a heart murmur... turned out i didn't and the nurse was confused as what the doc was reffering to.
I personally am going to attempt to get hold of the result of said ECG in prior preparation (7P's people!) that they may discover exactly the same noise the doc thought he heard - that way maybe i won't get deffered on such instances... Long winded....

    But i hope that helps
