Yeah it's pretty much exactly the same as on the sheet the AFCO give you.

    Well gutted

Hey, I have been wanting to join as an air craft tech. I have done barb and interviews and medical. However I have now looked in the booklet PAP 2007 PDF. Online which gives the eyesight standards for different trades and aircraft tech. and alot of other trades require you to see 6/60 unadided. I am pretty sure I can't see this as my eyesight is -5 dioptres so will most likely fail the medical at adsc, put loads work in to maths and fitness etc. However I could get in to the infantry and para regiments with my eyesight like this. Sounds abit mad as infantry and para regiments I would of thought would of needed higher eyesight standards as I for one wouldn't feel comfortable and unsafe begin on the front line alot with bad eyesight espically jumping out of planes as contacts would likely comes out with the high wind or glasses fall off. But would be fine in an engineering role. Anyone on here had a smiliar problem.

You wanted to be an Air Tech with English like that? Thank fuck it's only the language that you got to mangle.

Yes. I once jumped out of a plane and my head fell off.

    Mark,

Don't worry too much about the grammar, there's a lot of spelling/grammar Nazis on here with not a lot to do with their time. I believe you can now join the Army having had laser eye surgery (not an expert, I'm afraid), but there may be a set period you have to wait after having the operation(s). If your heart is set on joining as an Air Tech, why not look at the surgery, and gain a little work experience until the time bar is up?

    Good luck either way

Despite the off-hand response, Mark, I can only suggest you get in touch with your ACIO. This is the internet, and while you may find useful advise and sympathy (sometimes), you really need to get it from the relevant people.

Best of luck with whatever path you find yourself on.
