Filling in my med forms now and going to take them to my civvy doc tomorrow, im going to ask him for a rough finish time for them and pick them up myself and take to the AFCO at the advice of my recruiter so they dont get fannied about and not sent off.
You, you and you, panic. The rest of you, come with me.

Ask for an appointment with your doctor and that it concerns an army medical, they should book you in for an extended appointment (mine was 1/2 hour) and get them to fill it in right their and then.

Alright guys, tried searching but didnt turn much up, any idea what would happen if you was to break a bone before basic?

As you had not yet started would you be dropped, and have to wait the 4 years or whatever it is before you can start, like when you apply?

May be taking up MMA shortly to fill the 4 odd months before I start, just wondering where I would stand if I was to damage something

I phoned up but the depressing receptionist said I basically can't do that, and that If I bring them in she will stick them in his pegion hole and he will get around to them "as soon as possible". This is bollocks, but there's nothing I can do about it...

If you've not taken them in yet - ring up and just book an appointment. There's no requirement to mention them to the receptionist until the point your doctor gets too liberal with the time he's taking over filling them in :D

Re: All MEDICAL chat & queries in here please.

I am currently in the process of awaiting the return of my medical forms from my doctor - I gave them to him in person on Saturday and was advised that they should be compelted 'early next week' so hopefully not too long to wait.

However, I do have some questions that my visit raised.

Whilst I was there my doctor reminded me that I was referred to have a repair done on an umbilical hernia that I have had for about 5 years (it's never caused me any pain and, as such, I've never felt compelled to do anything about it. I only sought advice because I noticed it whilst I was laying down about 4 months ago and promptly forgot all about it).

I'm guessing that I will need to get this repaired before I'm allowed to proceed with my application?

I also noticed that there was a question covering the use of inhalers - A very long time ago (I think I was roughly 5 years old, I'm now 27) I had to use a steriod inhaler for a month (roughly). As I could not recall the dates I asked my doctor to complete them for me. I can't imagine this will cause any problems, can anyone advise differently?

Other than these two issues I've no problems at all. Thanks in advance for the help.

..oh, first post by the way!
