Re: Do i have a chance?
One important apect of it is if it is located on your hands. I have been deferred and was asked to get a letter off my doctor saying ti was cleared up. It has now gone but they still wont let me in.
In my case it appears that if they have deferred you they will not change their mind. I was asked to get a letter when i was at ASDC I now get a third letter fomr the medical wing saying I cant join unitl three years later.
My arguement is why didnt they inform poepl of this in the first place and I have seriously been messed around. So if you go through the same process I have gone through prepare yourself to be messed about alot.
What I cant understand is why defer soemoen if u the medical wing had no intention of ever letting me in?

All MEDICAL chat & queries in here please.
About 6 weeks ago now my GP sent off the medical questionaire. He received the payment for it so i assume that they were received. I have not yet heard anything from the army regarding my medical questionaire.
Most people i've asked said it can take anything between 2 - 6 weeks. I don't have any medical problems that would prevent me from joining the army but i do have a few things on my medical records, for example the last thing was i twisted my testicle about 4 years ago or so.
How long can i expect to wait before i hear anything from this point? I really am interested in the army, and they seem to make a fuss about how they need people etc, yet they are taking forever to process something pretty straight forward. I appreciate that they are short staffed and things take a while to get done, but how long should i wait before i phone up my recruiter?
I assume my recruiter will phone me as soon as he receives the questionaire back, so i doubt theres a lot of point in phoning.
What can i do?

Re: Medical questionaire sent off ages ago, still heard nothing.
I was waiting for around 2 weeks, then i rang up the ACIO, they told me a letter would be in the post for the end of the week for more info. I sent off the more info they needed on friday and now i'm waiting again.
Just ring up the Careers office and ask what's going on.....

Twisted testicle, eh?
Daps your application is taking ages. I remember before I even joined this site, (when I was just sneaking around the forums) you were posting comments about your Medical. He who laughs first, laughs loudest. He who laughs last didn't get it.

Re: Medical questionaire sent off ages ago, still heard noth
It's been just over 3 weeks since i sent off my medical forms the first time, and i sent off the more information they needed last friday. So just over three weeks the medical part has taken so far.Daps your application is taking ages. I remember before I even joined this site, (when I was just sneaking around the forums) you were posting comments about your Medical.
I'll be phoning the office next monday to see what's happening.
Hardly ages. :P

Re: Medical questionaire sent off ages ago, still heard nothing.
Mine took from October - Jan/February.
That sucked.
The worst part of it was the fact - I knew I was holding out on College, when all my mates were getting accepted - I didn't apply for any but Harrogate so I know I was leaving it later and later.
Luckily I passed, Went to ADSC in March and passed - Starting AFC in September.
Best decision of my life so far!
