Re: AFC Harrogate Chat & Queries
Hi Blue.... A pm is a private message. Check your in box. My son does his oath on the 21st aug. Time just seems to be going so quick. Have you done your oath yet & have you has your kit list?? What section are you going to when you get to Harrogate. My son is in the Rifles. Are you going up on the day or are you staying over? Do you know what time we have to be there by?

Re: AFC Harrogate Chat & Queries
My daughter has received confirmation ,that she will be going in on the 7th.We will be travelling up from Hampshire is it best to book overnight ,the night before. What time does she have to be there? Is there anything for the parents to see or do on the day? Is it just a pat on the back and good luck/goodbye at the gate?
Anyone got any information out there?

Re: AFC Harrogate Chat & Queries
Hi thingy... Well we live in somerset & it will be a nightmare trying to do the train up to yorkshire, ironing board & all, so we are flying up on the friday. That leaves us all day sat to chill & to go into town to get that all important ironing board lol!! We are just using the local premier inn as everything else, seems to be booked. I have found out that if you have stayed over night, you have to be there about 12pm. Stuff out on breakfast as they dont get lunch. We take them to the main area, they are then taken of to be shown where their rooms are etc, whilst they are doing that, we are given a talk about what we can expect etc & a cuppa. The lads or lasses then come back out where we can say goodbye. I will be sobbing like a baby I know that for a fact! Lightweight ah lol.
We say good bye & we go. They stay there & get shouted at lol. First of many I have no doubt! :D So thats what I have found out so far. I hope that its all right! I was asking before on another thread what are the lads or lasses wearing up there? Mine is wearing a suit but others say to wear jeans etc. What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone been given their kit list yet? If so whats on it PLEASE? Oh & how much is your child taking to last the first 3 weeks until they get paid? If anyone has any more info, please tell me lol! Just 8 weeks to go & its flying by.

Hi 56... Well way back in april, we were very lucky to get a place. I just couldnt believe we had to wait to see if there were any places. Not are working so hard to pass selections. So, no, I dont know if they have any places left. I hope there is for those who want to go in sept.

Re: AFC Harrogate Chat & Queries
I got the 6th last place for the RAC a couple of weeks ago, depends on what you want to do some maybe full some not, I taking an educated guess that the RAC will be full up now going on how many people my age at selection wanted to go in for that. If you've passed selection ring up and pester your career office!
