Re: Be Honest.......what's your 1.5 mile run time?
zero said it better than me...there only guides but if you have a 2 month gap between selection and basic there is all the oppertunity to knock off 2 + mins of your run time.

what was your run time on selection.
makde this thread mainly because i have been reading through a fair ammount of threads with people worrying about there run times. now i see that if this thread gets going and joe bloggs says he got a 12.30 run time for infantry and passed isnt that going to put peoples minds at rest knowing they could get a awfull time that they can still pass.
i know this has helped me reading people have got 12-13 min run times and still passed because they have potential.
hopefully you will all see it from my point of view and see the potential help and motivation this can give people who are training. so to help out fellow new recruits or people thinking of joining if you could post your
run time.
heaves
regiment you want to join
and if you passed or failed and for what reason.
hopefully you will all

Heaves:13

Passed selection.

Even though i didnt make the proper run time they new i would have a bit of a wait until basic so they passed me because they think i can get my time down before i start.

Re: what was your run time on selection.
My run time at selection was 11.34, but my PB was 10.00
Heaves:0
Regiment: RAMC
Passed selection
Pirbright: (get dates this week)
Even though my run time is high, i still got all positive points and told to keep doing what i'm doing. All i can say is aslong as you put as much effot in to everything you do you will be fine."By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail."

Re: what was your run time on selection.
the best time i had pre selection was 13 minutes. i was i rate lazy fker
and that was 3 days before selection. and then for selection i got 10.26. as i only did three days of fitness before hand, im pretty happy with that =0.
just goes to show u go alot faster when theres someone infront of you to beat.
i got 11 heaves
i passed and am gonna be a signaler

Re: what was your run time on selection.
yes, but it may also give out the impression that they don't have to keep trying and settle for ther 13 min time! no matter what your time is, you can always improve so basically just keep improving and don't settle for an okay time.

Re: what was your run time on selection.
yes i was thinking about that earlier. but anyone in there right mind should know and be aware the minimum standards should always been exceeded. i mean if you get a fairly poo run time on selection you usually have around 1-2 months between basic so thats ample time to get time down a fair bit and make a good impression.

Re: what was your run time on selection.
This wasn't particularly recent btw..
run time- 9.58
heaves- 12
regiment- RAMC
and if you passed or failed and for what reason- passed =]
Oh another tip, always lie about your time when it comes to the IceBreaker, add at least 30 seconds onto it as you don't want to look like a complete tw@t coming in at 12.30 when you said that your time was 6.30 in the IceBreaker. Bear in mind that you will be tired, and if you usually run on a treadmill, road running is harder.

Runtime: 9:22
Heaves: 14
Selection: Passed
Regiment: Paras (looking at this thread & the other lads times who are goin para I'm glad I choose the Paras, we really are head & shoulders above the rest)
Catterick: Very soon, can't waitWe, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing
We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free.

If you have a pull up bar you should find them easy.
