Had the same problem. Used to go out for runs in the evening but was finding it pretty hard to get myself motivated after a days work when you just wanna kick back and relax. I switched to going out on short runs 4 times a day - to work, home for lunch and back to work then home again at the end of the day. Covered about 1.5 km with each run at a fairly relaxed pace - about 10 mins each time.
Topped this up with a more serious work out twice a week with a 4.5 km run, an hour of football and another 4.5km run on Tuesdays and then on Saturdays 2.4km at a relaxed pace followed by timed 2.4km best effort and then a casual jog around town to warm down.
Re: Be Honest.......what's your 1.5 mile run time?
I just hate the idea of going out running, i can happily run 3-4 miles on a treadmill but i hate running outside, probably because i live in a chav infested shitehole

I know the feeling - live in Glasgow myself so i can sympathise on the chav front. I also used to prefer running in the gym to heading out but after a couple of months of running outside pretty much everyday i've reached the point i'm not bothered by the surroundings and just enjoy running for it's own sake.

I wouldnt mind if there where some nice woods to run in or something.... but i live right near the town centre so its all housing estates and stuff... no fields to run in or anything
Re: Be Honest.......what's your 1.5 mile run time?
Did 3miles last night in 17mins, think the first mile and a half came up in about 8ish, I was pretty happy with it but the kiev and chips i'd eaten an hour and a half earlier made an appearance in someones front garden about 10minutes in!

Seems like a reasonable place to ask:
8 miles in 1:05, decent?
I've no idea what kind of times I should be looking at for that distance. Oh , and is it normal for a foot to go numb about the 5 mile mark , or am I going to die?
