Carlsberg don't train troops but if they did, they would all be Rifles!

Also I think most AFCO's actually do a running club now for people looking to reach the required fitness level. The one in Bolton does any how.
Yeah, my local AFCO does a weekly 1.5 mile run at the running track. I go each week, I find it offers a pretty good training session as you get pushed that little bit more. It's also good to see time being shaved off week by week!

The only benefit I can imagine treadmills having over running on tarmac, etc. is it's a convenient alternative in winter if you're allergic to rain and other such forms of precipitation.

from what i've read on here mate, it' more than just the run time that merits an A grade, i know of one guy got 10.39 ish on his run, which isn't particulary fast ( no offence ) for infantry and got an A. think its more your overall performance that counts although it's been mentioned on here that the icebreaker and team tasks are a big part of it :D .

I ran the 1.5 mile in 12.28 and I am female. I got graded an A for my lifts, pull ups and jerry can carry but ended up with a B overall. They grade you on everything so it all counts towards your final mark.

Today i time myself for the first time at a local athletics tracks 08:40 Back in school days i used to be a decent 1500 and 3000 meter athlete. Im slowly getting back up to full fitness, I do 3 x 3 mile runs a week but from now on I'll do 2 x 3 miles runs and a timed run at the local track.

Ive only started training strength this week, only manging 35 press up and sit ups each, more disappointingly 5 pull ups. Will have to improve!

I got an A with 5 heaves and a run time of 11.14. The run is important, but don't bank on it to get you into the high scoring brackets, you need to give max effort at everything and don't be shy. Be vocal, ask questions, answer questions, be keen as f*ck and you should be alright.
