I'm pretty sure if you came in at 13:59 you wouldn't have a very good time at all.
I was last in my run at 10:48, and that was bad enough. Imagine how it looks if there's 20+ people sat there watching you do your last two laps? Rubbish!
We all have bad days (i know I did!) but anything above 11:30 max and there's a bit of an effort issue going on. If you want to join that bad your run time WILL come down, because you'll make it. If you turn up hoping to scrape the minimum, you've already got the wrong attitude and they'll no doubt pick up on that.
NOTE: Aimed more at the males amongst us. No idea whats good/bad for girls.SUT. Useful for Phase 1 info and the like.

Has anybody done an army fitness day at chepstow before? Or an army fitness day in general? Just wondering what you actually do on them. Got one tomorrow at Chepstow so curious what the days going to be like and what the 1.5 mile route is like? Got the letter through today and it says we'l be doing the assault course and that so should be a good day.

that's a good time however is not the only thing you get tested .There was once this guy going for para who run the 1.5 mile in about 8 min ( you only need to run under 9.18 to get the maximum 25 points at ADCS ).So ,believe it or not he got a C grade so what that makes him ..... maybe the fastest but wasn't enough I guess ...

May also be due to your running technique.
I would try going to a shop that tests your gait etc and gives you running shoes that are best suited to your feet. Obviously you run the risk of paying for shoes and it still not solving the problem, but it is a likely cause.

hey everyone i am dan, i am new to the forum, i am going for selection on the 11th April, i just wondered if anyone could tell me about the weight lifting side or selection. I've had a browse through the threads and think i have the jist of things, but i have some reservations about the 55kg lift, is this a pass/fail thing? its my main concern as i went for an ADSC taster day last month, and i did the jerry can carry etc. fine. and i have a good enough run time for my chosen job. however i only weight 60kg so my upper body strength isn't the best. apologies for the long winded post.
thanks in advance.

Q still stands, and I'll add another.
Running shoes: Do we get issued them for training? Mine aren't really suitable and so I need a new pair. Do I go for something cheap/affordable but adequate to take me up to the end of my ADSC, or go all-out to the limit of my budget on some really good running shoes knowing that they'll be with me through into the army?
