TA Medical and High Blood Pressure

I have a friend who wants to join the TA but has had high blood pressure in the past, 135 over 90. It is under control now apparently and not gone worse but would he fail his medical? Reading up on the subject the norm should be around 120 over 80. He is fit, 39, doesn't smoke and not a lardy, so thought I would ask the experts!

I passed my last three TA/RAF Aux medicals with elevated blood pressure. First reading in all three was high, after laying down for a bit second reading was high/normal.
