Try treat them with a little more respect Lynchy92, they have all served this country and deserve respect. It's hard to keep on track of the number of applicants they must deal with and having seen some of the idiots who enter the office on a daily basis, I would imagine they're busy enough with the time wasters who they still have a duty to inform. They're helping you to do something that you want, even if it is their job, it's not that hard for you to politely chase them up and bump it to the front of their mind.

My recruiter was amazing and really couldn't have been much more helpful, a few things slipped his mind but he always rectified things quickly and was happy to go out of his way to advise me in any way he could.

Believe me Yorkshire, I have the utmost respect for my recruiters, they're all good guys. But for the exact reason you have stated, that so many plonkers walk in to the offices on a daily basis and each one need to be informed just like the last, they need to be chased up on things, but of course in a polite manner. I definitely wouldn't barge in to the office bouncing around like a common d*ck head.

I have been told to wear jeans and a t-shirt on the first day of selection, going to adsc because when you arrive, you do your medical straight away.

Wouldn't recommend wearing anything other than a suit to be honest with you. The only reason they say to wear jeans and t-shirt is because you have your BP tested; it makes it easier and quicker for the Doctor to put the sphygmomanometer on your arm, and for you to get undressed and dressed at the end. I don't see the fuss though, you have to strip down to your boxers straight after the BP test anyway, so you could just take your shirt off for the BP reading too.

Remember, it's one big job interview. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't turn up to a job interview in jeans and t-shirt even if I was told by the employer that I could do so.

Are there any irons there so you can iron your suit for the interview on day 2?

Why would you need to iron your suit? get it dry cleaned before you head up there and keep it in a suit bag.

I think he means if he was to wear it to ADSC Yorkshire. Wouldn't worry about that though Freddie. You'll only be in it for the duration of your medical and then you'll be getting changed in to PT gear for the first part of the fitness and Ice Breaker. If it's any consolation I took an extra pair of pants, an extra shirt, didn't wear my suit jacket, and put them all in a suit bag in case I did make a mess of the ones I was wearing. I didn't, but I still wore the spares anyway.

I guess you have a bad recruiter. Honestly I personally have a great recruiter and talk to him at least twice a week. However, I do know that a few of my mates have had useless recruiters who don't do shit. I guess the key is to constantly annoy him for this information, after all it is his job.

My recruiters pretty good tbh, speak to him at least 1/2 a week. Told me yesterday I'm booked onto te ADSC for two weeks time so get in! Anyone else on it?

Coupler things though, genuinely serious about the suit? Not going to get there and get thrown straight into a pond or something haha? One massive joke to get the recruits wearing suits? Personally I can see the logic as yes it's a job interview effectively. Just don't wanna target myself lol.

And as for PT gear, just the usual shebang?
