ADSC was quality. Passed with an A and now sat on the train home absolutely battered and aching all over. Loved every second of it! Next stop basic..!

Right what is the crack with how it is scored, is it all considered the same, or are some things more important than others?
This run....I have never really paid any attention to how far I am running, just to if I am still bein chased. :P
How hard is it to run 1.5 miles in 10 mins?

Hi Guys,
I know this question is asked a lot, but i am under the impression that ADSC strength tests have now changed? I wasnt sure if things differed from one location to another. I am hoping to join Royal Artillery, i had my 2nd and 3rd interviews on the same day yesterday, and have been put forward for ADSC on Tuesday 25th Oct at Pirbright......very late notice due to a drop out!!!
I feel i am prepared, although am a little concerned about my heaves! My run time is currently 10:30ish, im hoping to lower that on the day, just through sheer determination!! As i say though, i struggle to complete 4 heaves, my serious weakness. Im in good shape, play rugby every weekend for my local team. Can someone confirm whether heaves are marked during adsc, or just effort?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!! (cant wait for adsc!!!!)

Hi mate, heaves aren't done anymore, its a bag lift to a height of 1.5m (about shoulder height) at varying weights, from 15kg to 40kg, you try your best and see how many you can do, alot fairer than heaves so you should be fine, don't worry yourself, good luck

P.S - as RA you will be required to lift heavier than usual quantities when you pass so maybe work on your upper body strength now so you have a headstart, my little brother is in the RA and when he joined he was a skinny runt and now hes bigger than me after 2 years in the RA! Don't worry yourself about it

I hate that 'Infantry = thick' assumption.
I have long been of the opinion that, yes - I guess anyone with a reasonable level of fitness could "mong along at the back" in the Infantry, but to be good at it takes a certain kind of intelligence. At the end of the day, you are hunting the most intelligent, wily, and dangerous quarry possible - other human beings, and it takes brains to excel at it.
I can't think of many, if any, Infantry NCOs I've ever met who come across as thick. GCSEs are no guarantor of intelligence, mind - they just show that you know how to take a test and can read a bit.
If you want Infantry, go for it.''I'm Brian, and so's my wife''

Ok thanks for clearing that up. Im about 6"2, and about 15 stones so the bag lift should be fine. Im sure heaves will be part of the pt lesson so may sell prepare anyways!!!
