My section commander at ITC is from the batallion I'm joining and from what he's told me batallion life is awesome!

If your going in the guards will you be put into a section with people who are joining the same capbadge as you, like all the grenadiers in one section, all the coldstreamers in another etc etc. Or are you all mixed in together?

You will be in a Guards Platoon, there will be some lads from the same reg as you but there will also be lads from other reg's aswell.

at catterick iv been told they ease you into the physical stuff, when exacly does it start to become physical & what sort of things do you do at first?

Is it the same with Rifle platoon's?

Rifles platoon's are usually purely rifles. However there are a few platoons in catterick at the moment that are not rifles platoons but do have riflemen in them. For example I am in a rifles section within a Queens platoon, the reason for this was that on my intake they only took 12 riflemen in and this wasn't enough to form a platoon so they put us in with a queens platoon and made a 4th section.
