quick question, whats the rules on changing cap badges in phase one, im going Duke of lancs but want to change to Yorkshire reg, i know there both Kings div so it might be easier.

u used to be able too, bt i reckon that with how long it takes u to get a start date it will be a big problem, have a hard think bout it n if u still wanna change make sure you tell em as soon as possible

Cheers for the reply, i actually went down after writing that and my recruiter said it is possible because they are in the same division so all is good.

whats the medical like at catterick, im more nervous about that than actually starting training...
id hate to get there then they tell me there is something wrong & i cant start. im no different medicaly than when i was at ADSC, will i be alright?

All that happens is, you get you weight and height taken and to a piss test, then its on to hearing and eye tests. After that you will get a few injections blood taken etc etc then after that you will see the doctor and he/ she will ask you if anything has happend or changed since your medical at ADSC given that nothing has changed you will be sent on your way to comence training. Nothing to worry about mate.

You put down 2 preferences, 1st and 2nd choice, but you will go were the operational need is. I really didn't mind which btn i got to be honest and i'm happy with 5, my section commander is 5 rifles aswel so he's been giving us the gen on 5 rifles.

What dya reckon i should be doing for fitness to make basic that bit easier? and has basic flown by so far?

Can any body please shed some light on the "two week catch up course" some people complete the two weeks before they are due to start basic at ITC. I've heard of it in a few places but have yet to find anything about it. thanks
