far from it at least you are having a go at it, u will not be a superman overnight, basic will improve your fitness but you want to do it for yourself more than anything else. if you are going as RMP then phys will be up to u in your own time, in conjunction with the investigations you will have to do out of shift.

you sound like you've got the right attitude which will get you further than stressing about push-ups. You say you're a fat knacker and, unlike 99.99% of fat knackers you're doing something about it. Keep it up and you'll be fine. Also, if you're going RMP you need to be masterbating a lot. and, at 200 odd calories a whack, probably better than pushups.
Stop worrying, if you are medically fit you have shown by passing ADSC that you can reach a minimum standard, as long as you continue to work on that fitness and you don't just expect the Army to get you fit, you will be fine
14 weeks of training at Phase 1 is more than enough time to train someone who has already met the minimum selection standard (to a basic trained standard that is)
If you can't meet the requirement, you wont get sent home, you will simply be 'back-trooped', or have extra PT in the mornings until you get to the required standard. Don't worry about this mate, they only send home the complete retards.
At the end of phase one, your shoulders shall be broad and your knob red raw from shagging.

I may have grabbed the wrong end of the stick here, do you have to do 50 pushups by the END of basic? In that case, piece of piss really.. If I can do 20 now, with six weeks to go, then another 12 weeks of phase 1, I should be able to 50 no problem
