Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
Swore my allegiance today... good fun and yet another certificate! Also received another version of the 'kit list'! (shakes head) Spoke to a bloke the other day who served 23 years in Artillery, who said if there's a qualification in Ping Pong i should get it! Online there is information about the education centre, but i don't expect the availability of many courses until after basic... any ideas?

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
I've got 3 kit lists... the one they gave me at ADSC, the ATR Bassingbourn list online and another they gave me today! My plan is to make sure i have the essentials from each list and if any space left in my bag, throw in a few extras...
I don't know anyone from Wales (or Swindon where i just moved) going to ATR Bassingbourn on the 22nd... only all you buggers! Where you all from?

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
The one online on the ATR Bassingbourn pages is the one you should use, over and above any others you've been given. It was updated slightly a couple of weeks ago - mainly to clarify a couple of points, drop a few items OFF the kit list and has had a CO's Welcome letter added to the front of it. This is also the one that the AFCO's are supposed to be issuing out to everyone now. The same applies for Harrogate, Winchester and Pirbright too....their 'approved' kit lists are the ones shown on their websites and have been updated / uploaded in the last couple of weeks.

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
Im travelling from Wales on the 22nd. I'll arrive at Royston train station at about 1430 according to the journey guide I got after swearing my oath. I found doing the oath pretty good, helps focus the mind and the officers were really sound - quite a proud moment! Looking forward to working hard and doing well now.
