Something about the financial year like april to april.
Can anybody clarify why I have to wait 9 months after passing selection to start phase 1?
thanks.
ps I'm going into the RE as a air con fitter.

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
There's been a big increase in the number of people applying to join up so there can be a bit of a waiting list to get started on Phase 1. Which capbadge you want to join can affect start dates cos they try and tie in the dates of your Phase 1 and Phase 2 training so that there isn't a big gap in between. You get a bit of a break after finishing Phase 1....but the Army don't want you to be waiting around for months to start on Phase 2.

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
my son is a third way through his phase 1 at bassinbourne and really enjoying it. he waited a whole year after selection but it was worth the wait. he was offered to go in with a different trade but stuck to his guns, so to speak, and is now glad he waited. his recruitment seargant was very vague about starting dates but once he got his date it was only a matter of weeks before he went. just make sure you get all your kit ready. good luck boys. hope this helps.

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
im going in as a plant operator. passed selection on 2nd sept 09 and my recruiters still trying to find a placement, he said it could be anytime around April or after, so it is a long wait really. He said people drop out all the time due to being arrested or broken bones and that so hes told me to be ready.

Re: ATR Bassingbourn Chat & Queries
I passed my selection back on July 1st and have been given a Phase 1 date of Feb 7th 2010 so a 7 month wait for me! I'm joining the RE as a Design Draughtsmen so I'm thinking it should be worth the wait! Anybody else have the same Phase 1 date?
