my mum doesnt want me to go in n thinks im being stupid n its basically suicide :\ but i guess shes just worried about me but i think itl make me a better person n ill love it =] im reapplying in feb and im trying to go for AT
my back up choice is armourer but im thinkin of adding vech mech on as 3rd choice. iv never really been girly girl so hopefully the lifestyle wont be too shocking to the system apart from the amount of exercise xD haha im joining a British military fit group near me in prep for reapplying and prep for army in general =]

Exactly like my mam! I've tried saying to her that just because I join the Army it doesn't mean that I'm going to come back home in a coffin! She's slowlyyyy starting to listen after months of me constantly saying it's all I want to do

but everytime she sees Afghanistan in the news she looks at me with tears in her eyes? I'm not sure if she's just a bit emotional right now or if she actually feels like it!

Of course it will make you a better person

I can't wait to start my application! I'm getting fit right now though...

i think mine was slightly relieved to hear i got deferred lol but she knows now that if i wanna do something im just gunna do it anyways she don't like it but she knows she isn't gunna be able to stop me going in.

im hoping this time when i reapply itl end up being smooth sailing after that my recruiter is a really nice bloke and says the other things in my deferral letter shouldn't stop me from getting in as he has a needle phobia himself. obv i was a bit devastated but its happening to a lot of people atm and ill just keep trying until i get in =]

what are you hoping to join as?

Hoping to join as a Combat Med Tech :D I did want to be a Gunner but I changed my mind after thinking "what the hell am I going to do after I come out?". So I think CMT is the best bet for me

not even started applying yet! Mam's hoping I'll get medically deferred I think! She's heard a lot of bad things about the Army from a family friend in the Army but I'm hoping she can put my ambition first :D better than leaving school and getting a job that pays minimum wage isn't it?

How long has your application taken so far?
As I'm wondering when to start mine....

if you are going for cmt. i would start to apply now as loads of people. choice to join as one. for my selection until my date for basic. which is the 1st of feb. i have a 8 months wait. but that is nothing compared to some of the girls who. have the same date to start as i do.

is CMT hard to get into then?

it is not that hard to get into. you just have a wait for a date for phase one. as loads of people pick cmt as the career they wish to do.

they do have army prep colleges all around the uk which help you study for what you wanna do as well as get your fitness up to standard for you to be able to join =]
ask your recruitment centre about them

i think your mad for wantin to do CMT but then again i wanna be an AT lol
