Madre-Mia,
I've gone all cold, what a wonderfully philosphical thing for a sixteen year old to say, how mature...... You must be so proud. :D
he did study hard to get the grades he needed to be an avionics tech. The Army motivated him like nothing else ever has.
Ahh another avionics tech :D
My son is (at last) about to start his course in Arborfield (He's been in holding platoon for some time now lol). He'll be still there when your son starts next September so, closer to the time, give me a shout and I'll ask my lad to look out for him.
Just as a quick add on to your comment re drugs. Throughout the whole of their careers they will receive regular drug tests. If they are caught with any in their system they are basically told to leave. I wonder if they employed this philosophy in civvie street whether drug usage would drop? Just a thought.
xxx
My Js wants to be an avionics tech too!!!!!!!!!
He also told me they had a drugs test when they went back last week after their leave..... said he had to "Pee" into a container with the corpral watching!!! My how different life is for them now compared with 2 months ago!! :D
theone said............."Close... I've worked with many doing bad thigs to bad people. Everyone needs a hobby "
So you're a Probation Officer then?
We eat them for lunch
My proffession is in social housing, I've worked on and managed some rough estates where we set about dealing with the vicious minority that plagued the good people there. It kinda followed I ended up doing a fair bit of legal work and that ended up being a bit of a specialty.
The crime and disorder partnership I sit on tackles loads of different issues, from preventative measures, ASBOs, druggies through to dealing with the organised gangs.
I could tell you more but then I'd have to kill you
Does anyone know what this ex orions adventure thing is on the 25th to the 27th of Nov?
I've had a letter from the scool and my JS has won an award for being a high achiever. It would be nice for him to be able to attend this event but I'm doubting he will be able to as it is slap bang in the middle, on the 26th.
I think he's won an engineering award too but unsure when he gets that certificate, might be the same night.
Do they get leave for such events?
Cant answer your question, but on passig-in day when we were in the theatre they said to phone if the JS´s needed any time out for important things. Im sure this would be one of them,. Well done to yours.
Thank you, I'm very pleased for him, he did study hard to get the grades he needed to be an avionics tech. The Army motivated him like nothing else ever has.
Congratulations to your son i bet your doubly proud of him

My son lost his avionis tech post as he thought he didnt need to study. Kicking himself now. Although he is hoping to go Royal Sigs system engineer.
Yes, he's not too impressed by the delays and even mentioned the Paras, at which point I said, so what will you be able to fix at the end of that then....
Nothing wrong with joining the Paras......................... one of the best.
Indeed, and one of my nephews whos not quite so academic may well end up being one. However I've encouraged my JS to learn a trade and work towards that in his studies. I'd rather he did that now than later in life when he has a family. Given he was one of the few lads that got the grades I would hope he sticks to the deal we have.
He tells me they are doing a lot of education this week, going over the basic math. Its good to hear the AFC are keeping them on their toes in more ways than one.
Without the brave lads that defend the technical crews there would be no need for technicians.[/quote]
I asked my husband a bit about the para's 2 days ago as I knew your JS wanted to be one... he said, "they are incredible, the fittest of the lot and need to be of strong body and mind, I admire them"... I agree whole heartedly with your final sentence... and for the para's I'm grateful as my son wants to be an avionics tech. :D
