Having read back I now feel the need to add my 2 pennies worth. When my son first talked about joining the army he didn't get a good reaction from us. No, not and never!
But he was determined and he researched what he wanted to do and had an answer for every thing! In a very short time I had to change my mind, I now support him 100%
Yes I have had people look at me like I need locking up for child crualty but I now use the same responses that he gave me last year!
I am confident my son has made the right choice for him, If joe public don't like it, Well

:( hope he isnt sitting there moping, does he still sound ok when you chat, shame when it was his first weekend after pay day,he will certainly have a field day at the shops when he is better, how long do they stay in med centre? if its something they need to rest after do they get sent home?
Our js went to harrogate yesterday with a group of pals ,"quality"LOL "money to burn" can't see that car getting bought, but they are only young once!!! :D :D :D
The medical centre at AFC(H) is brilliant. If, after treatment, he needs to rest they get put on 'light duties' (i.e. no tabs, PT, etc). Mine had that after a serious chest infection.

I do remember trying to cheer him up when he was in the med centre and asking him if there were any fit nurses. His reply? "No, they're all old and wrinkly in their forties". Thank you dear son, I love you too!!!

    Rose xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS I've just brought in an expresso machine for the new pad!
Thanks rose, i had a similar answer last night when i asked him if the nurses where nice and he needed a massage, his answer was a grunt lol

He fell asleep today and missed the menu coming round so only got a cheese and onion roll for his tea. I mentioned that we had a kebab last night but silly mum me didnt think after a few glasses of wine, his answer to me was well thanks for sharing that with me mum NOT lol.

Ive just brought the water bed in for anyone that wants to have a dainty old time being oin here till early hours, word of warning tho please behave on it

    Each to their own then.
I cannot agree that this is the place to air any negative feelings.
I say to anyone who has them, "Why then did you sign the consent forms if you have any nagging doubts?" it doesn't make any sense to me.
But then, again my glass is always half full not half empty.
