i read on army jobs website on the para link that the parachute regiment is always recruiting is that true or will they start cracking down on vacancies due to credit crunch?(or any other reason)

They already have restricted the amount of vacancies they have

But they are still recruiting

I was doin some thinking bout the whole reduced recruiting in light of my recruiter givin me the good news that my med docs are on docs desk. And im gonna take some advice five gave a while ago.........Stop worrying, trust the recruiter and wait for the job i really want

I have been ringing my recruiter every week since i passed adsc to see when my start date is but i get the same answer everytime so i've decided to leave it with the recruiter for a while and just keep training.

Usually ppl seem to get basic date pretty soon after ADSC. Well anyhow, hold fast and stay positive

We are still recruiting for all cap badges, its just the intakes that have been capped, that doesnt mean we turn round to people and just tell them to sod off and come back when we have jobs ;)

As for ringing the recruiter up, if you are going for infantry the only way you will get an intake date before Xmas is if there is a vacancy left on one, at the moment there are next to none left, the reason why people are now hearing very little about when their date is, is very likely due to the fact that there is a 'pause' on loading of recruits to any intake from January onwards, this pause is likely to last until end of August.

The reason we have the pause is because they are trying to see exactly how many recruits they need to fill the intakes from January through to March 31st, this will then give them a clear indication of the Army manned strength as of April next year.

If you have passed ADSC, sit tight and wait for a phone call, ringing the recruiting offices will not speed anything up, we are as much in the dark as you lot ;)
