I'm really looking forward to CIC I think it will be awesome in itself! AACC is something that I may look at later down the line, at the moment i'm 100% commited to the task in hand if you get what I mean, don't want to run before I can walk.

my sentiments exactly mate, one painstaking step at a time but all the waiting for the paperwork is sooooooooooooooooooo cr@p!!! ive found myself hunting out military programs on TV and even watching andy mcnabb programs on ITV online!! lol

The waiting bit is the worst but once it's out of the way you feel great. Upside is it gives you plenty of time to train which I love.

Your doing well mate, you need to knock 10 secs off your 1.5 miles, don't see that being a problem though. Yeh I need to get on them protein shakes myself.
Good luck with joining THE best infantry regiment guys but as a 40+ year old whose just going through TA basic (again), I'm knocking out 9.40 for my 1.5 and I believe you will need to get down below that if you want a shot at the AACC. Stick with it though and you'll make it. Get interval training two or three times a week, and you'll be lapping the bootnecks in no time! LOL :D
With all fairness mate the lad will have 26 weeks regimental training to do before he does the AACC. So I presume anyone who completes the 26 weeks will be able to run their 1.5 miles in a much quicker time than their civvy Personal bests.

you can put down a battalion you want to join but the armies needs come first.thats what i was told anyway.if you go to to adsc soon youll have to wait till after august for a basic date.also at selection make sure you get involved alot in the team tasks and voice your opinions.while i was at adsc few people failed on the team tasks,it doesnt matter how well you have done on everything else on selection,if you fail the team tasks you get deffered.
