Does anybody know how things work in regards to changing battalions?

Can you be changed at any time to meet the army's requirements? Can you request a change? Or once your in a battalion are you there for good?

Yes you can request a change, but ask your recruiter for more info on how you go about it.

OK thanks, not too bothered where i get posted but just curious as to how the whole thing works. Im down the AFCO in the morning to pick up travel warrant so will find out then.

To be honest I fancy having a go at all the roles, light, mechanised and armoured. Also been told Paderborn is a great place to live.

Paderborn is a nice place to live, but get used to the fact that you'll have to live in some s****y places too. I'm lucky, I'm only a wife (and daughter) of a soldier. My Dad was an ASM in REME and we lived all over Germany (short stint in Cyprus too), but we also got to live in some rubbish places too.

I'm glad your excited about joining up, that's how it should be, just remember it's not all rose tinted glasses my friend.

Edited to add: Should say hubby is Infantry, we're in Germany now, then we're on rotation to go somewhere sunny, then somewhere really crud. Army Life...love it...lol

I'm aware of the ups and downs. I'm not joining the Army to live somewhere nice, i'm joining the Army to be a Soldier. :D :D

How did you do on your run and heaves? Any recomendations for me :D ?

Think ive decided out of 1 and 4 Rifles, 1 will be the one im going to try and go for :D

Now just gotta keep up the fitness training

Not got dates yet speaking to ACIO tomorrow about that. Did 7 heaves and got 10:06 on the 1.5 mile run. Only thing I can recommend is to do your best and do as your told by the staff, dont mess about and don't back chat.
