Discuss AFC Harrogate Sept 2009 Intake at the Regular Soldier Recruitment forum within the The Army Rumour Service website; HEY MAN TAKE A CHILL PILL , (A LARGE ONE)
ITS NOWT TO DO WITH ...
ITS NOWT TO DO WITH POINT SCORES, CHEAP OR OTHER WISE , IM JUST GIVING PEOPLE THE FACTS OF WHATS HAPPENING HERE AND NOW AND ITS OBVIOUSLY NOT ENOUGH ITEMS...LOL
MY JS AND HIS MATES IN HIS PLT AND COY ALSO EITHER WASHED THERE OWN OR BOUGHT MORE UNDERWEAR YOU PLONKER. ON ONE FINAL POINT HAVING A USER NAME LIKE TRIG........Y , I WOULD OF THOUGHT YOU OF ALL PEOPLE WOULD BE A WIZZ AT THAT PARTICULAR SKILL .......... PEACE BROTHER AND TRY NOT TO TAKE THINGS PERSONAL
what as peed me of at the moment is we was not told that we had to bring a ironing board my js said she needs more money to bye things like cleaning stuff . iv had to tranfer money in to her account to pay for this . i wish we were more informed about wat thy needed from the start by the way i dont like moanimg but it has to be said
No, i dont think the ironing board was on the list, i only knew from this forum and the mums from last year. It did say to take 100 pound though to last the first few weeks before they get paid... xx
We were told £50 and that they would get paid at the end of the first week? I haven't heard from my JS for 48hrs but am hoping if he's out of money he will tell me. Might explain why he decided to wash his clothes by hand to save the £4 for machine! :o
At the moment the Junior Coys are only allowed to wear uniform, they are allocated two free bags of military uniform to be washed each week. They shouldn't have to hand wash their kit.
Trig, am confused now. His list to take included civvies. That said it might have been that he was washing the clothes he travelled in to Harrogate.
yes, she's smarter than I was at her age. She works hard once she has set her mind on something.
She had wanted to be an ammunition technician or a weapon systems something or other. What with military drumming and judo as her top choices for skills and sports I'm wondering what has happened to the girl who always had MY makeup, nail polish and clothes in her room, lol
she sounds scarry lol when she gets gets home in 5 wks she will nick all ya gear an she will be a young woman glad i wont b there 2 c u 2 avin a hissy ova tha makeup could get messy lol x
I always saw her as a sweet, loving girl with a strong character but now you come to mention it.......!!!
As for the hissy fit, I can't wait to have to ask her if she's pinched my mascara again. I miss her so much. Don't know if it's because she's my only girl or because I've had children at home for 30 years and she's the last to fly the nest.
You know I feel really confused, I'm assuming there must be some one who posts in here who knows from on high what the score is be it passing in parade times, laundry rules, what ever. I'm very new here still.
I'm not a fussy Mum, I see it as my JS joined the army and as such he needs to take what ever it deals him and run with the ball when its going his way and try bloody hard to catch it again and run with it when it isn't. I dont know if he'll stick it out for the 6weeks but I hope he does.
What I find hard is coming in this morning having been told by my lad he washed his civvies by hand and then find its turned into a debate which oddly enough has left me wondering if my lad missunderstood, I missunderstood him and have I made him look daft. It shouldn't matter but unfussy Mum or not its that kind of thing that makes me 'wobble' as I want him to do well and make a good impression (for him, not for me) and if he washed by hand things he didn't need to did he feel stupid. I know that matters to him, he's very competitive.
I dont know what my point is now, I had a tooth out yesterday, my mouth is killing me and truthfully for the first time since he went in I could cry if it didn't hurt so much. NOT a good day.

Sorry to anyone who's offended. xx
Min - Anything that Trig says is real - he is from AFC and knows the score.
and the Mums and Dads from last year, The OTHER MAN that seems to think he knows it all, obviously doesnt, dont worry about posting things on here that you are not sure about, thats what its for, not every answer will be right, but were all new to this, and if your son did wash his clothes by hand and it wasnt necessary, not harm done, good on him. Hope your mouth feels better soon, nothing worse than tooth problems. xxxx
Hey Min
We are all doing so well. I sometimes get confused by the posts on here. Trigonometry really seems to know his stuff and I am going by his advice as it seems sound and common sense The other Mums and Dads- you know who you are ARRSES have been a great support too
No one said it would be this hard letting kids move on like this but I totally agree - They have joined for army life and that is what they will get - I wish them all well and am sure they'll all cope in some way or another. Ups downs and tricky turns
Now I've lost what my point was too I have no idea at all about the handwashing of clothes so cant help there but would think anything he is doing will be what others in his company are too - all the companies seem to be doing slightly different things - so am sure he wont feel silly - REALLY important to 16 year olds!!
Chin up now $ weeks and 1 day then we will really find out what they have been doing
MY JS is terrile at keeping in touch with us but his mates at home know all about his army life and phone me to update me - ha ha
If I can help Min PM me
Cheers
J
