Welcome to the club Arrseways!
I have my MB in February and have also been informed that if successful, the next availalbe place is Jan 2013. Not ideal but I as mentioned before, the guys who have found themselves out of a job and who have a MB pass seem to be cashing in on them. Hence why all intakes are full. Quite right, why wouldn't you?!?!
However, if you pass and you state that you would take a lastminute.com place on a CC then there will often be a few places available for guys who drop out/defer prior to starting.
My point is crack on, pass and then worry about which intake you will be on. At the moment, it is out of our hands.

There is always a great deal of chat about courses being full and most sources are not very trustworthy. This may be the case with September but the last May intake was so under subscribed that people were passing MB in March, skipping PCCBC and getting straight on the Commissioning Course.
Unless someone at Academy HQ tells you a course is full, don't take any information as gospel.

I'm led to believe that was traditionally the case. Indeed as I mentioned in a previous post I was expecting much the same thing i.e. be successful at the Board next month and hop on the CC in May. But with the army getting smaller and the age being lowered to 26 a lot of people who've been sitting on MB passes are rushing to use them. In addition whether due to the economic climate or whatnot, my ACA at least, has experienced a sharp rise in applicants. He told me that in a standard recruiting year (April-March apparently) he'd send 30 to the Board of which about 18 or would pass. This year he's already sent 40 of which 21 have passed and between now and March he's expecting to send another 10-15! So it could well top 50.
I'm not surprised that September is full for the reasons mentioned. Even the September 2013 intake (over two years away) is already 2/3 full!

I'd just like to mention that September 2013 being 2/3 full is quite possible but in no way represents the January/May intakes... At least 90% of those enrolled for September 2013 will be Wellbeck or University students who don't graduate until July 2013 and as such that's the earliest they could apply for. So for those looking to be in earlier, I wouldn't panic based on the above statement.Chosen Job: Armoured Engineer
First Interview: Done (16th June 2011)
BARB and Key Skills: BARB - 81, Literacy - L2, Numeracy - L2 (24th June 2011)
