From my limited knowledge (just home from board) the essay titles are a mix of topical and semi-topical / general issues. Nothing very specific.

"Are today's popstars suitable role models for children?" sort of stuff. It's not too hard, and most find a page and a half is quite short.

    RCB Briefing fitness

I have my briefing on the 30/31st Aug and am not sure whether i have to run the 500m or do a multi-stage fitness test?
I have a vague idea that a multi-stage test is to level 10.2 at the main board, but what does that mean? Also will i have to do any press ups and sit ups at the briefing as part of the testing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You just do the 500m run on your Briefing. thats what i did anyway, then the MSFT on your Main board.

i did the briefing at the end of june and apparenly were the first group to do the new format. we didnt do the 500m run, and instead did the MSFT, to level 10.8. they stop you then so dont worry about having to push yourself as far as you can. you dont have to do the push ups or situps at brief earlier, just a short obstacle course and also prove you can do a forward role!

cheers for people who posted a reply to my question about the essay titles.

Yeah I wasnt sure about the forward role...there was no way i fancied doing one through the window at the RCB. Don't worry though, they had no worries with my superman dive, I did find sand in my ears for the next two weeks though!!!

Is TCB brief and mainboard the same as the regular version?
Iv looked at the RCB site and the TCB link takes me to the TA homepage, which has no mention of TCB.
Iv asked my OC roughly whats in store for me (don't want to completly ruin the surprize!) although being very helpful couldn't remember what he'd done all those years ago.

    Cheers medears.

Not yet but they will be by Jan 06. Essentially they are tested to the same standard at the moment but the TA Board will not get you to Regular Sandhurst. Come the New Year and it will be an identical Board.
