Had a phone call tonight from Maurice Bourne our El Alamein veteran, the film crew came round to his house and did the interview, they then took him to the tank museum where he met Kelly Holmes who is presenting the programme and did his stuff with her (LUCKY SO AND SO). It is going to be aired on a sunday night either in late June or early July. Mac McKanny one of our normandy veterans has also been interviewed. Hoefully it will be worth waiting for.

I always think it's amusing when I set up my stall at Tankfest and everyone goes on and on and on - recurring, about Wittmann - I mention Kite, Roberts et al from our side and they all look at me like I just landed from the planet zog!!
I've just completed one of my commissions for a guy who I work with. It's for his father as a present in commemoration of the grandfather whom was awarded the USA's 2nd highest gallantry award (no not the ones you can buy from their QM's!!!) Here's the citation - another unsung hero

    DUTTON, HERBERT K.
    Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Herbert K. Dutton, Lieutenant, Royal British Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy in action against enemy forces on 25 September 1944. During the operations in the area of Veghel, "B" Squadron of tanks, 44th Battalion, Royal Tank Regiment, of which Lieutenant Dutton was Troop Leader, was acting in support of a battalion of the 101st United States Airborne Division in a drive to reopen the road south of the town. Lieutenant Dutton pressed his attack with such vigor and determination that the road was quickly cleared. He then led his remaining two tanks into the wooded area north of the road, and, dismounting from his tank three times to make personal reconnaissances under heavy fire, played a substantial part in clearing the area and destroying the enemy.
