Yes it was and yes it is! Did the CR2 conversion on my last cadre in '96 never commanded it though CVR (T), chieftain and CR1. See one of my previous posts in this thread when I gunned the Leo II in a firepower demo in the late '80s its FCS was very similar to CR2, all point and shoot and the hunter killer system between the gnr & cmdr at that time was first class.

Not sure what you mean by 'A' grade, but that was year we won CAT.
Tanks are easily identified, easily engaged, much-feared targets which attract all the fire on the battlefield. When all is said and done, a tank is a small steel box crammed with inflammable or explosive substances which is easily converted into a mobile crematorium for its highly skilled crew."

Check you out you old sweat! Did you ever get to have a go on a scorpion? How did the conversion go, its not like jumping from a rover to a snatch its a completely different system, what did your gunners prefer? sorry for the bombardment of questions.

On the demo did you get to use their TI system? i had a play of a danish one and it didn't look any better then the one we have which was a surprise to be honest.

Given that barring the most extreme circumstances 02FD11 WAS a Scorpion, as was the rest of 02FD and most of 03FD (rest were Scimitars) I'll be astonished if he wasn't.

Again see earlier post in this thread - Leo TI in the late 80's was not a patch on CR1 can't say what it's like now. However theirs was integrated whilst ours was not, hence the need for lots of duck egg coloured interconnecting boxes so the two systems spoke to each other. As to Scorpion, 02FD11 was my first command, such a simple weapon system - I think it was taken from Saladin with a few modifications - platform rock like no other and liable to give the commanders nose a good crack if you didn't move your head away from the sight as the gnr fired! The last time I commanded a Scorpion was in '95, OPFOR had a load with 50 gallon drums on the back and a length of plastic pipe over the 76mm to make them more MBT'ish - I think we called them salamanders or something like that.
