I met a guy who was on the Gallahad with 16 Fd that day. I think he might have been the RSM. It was at a demo we were doing for 16 Sqn, 3CSMR at an RAF place somewhere. He was with some yound cadets and we managed to get them involved with a staff college demo on Salisbury Plain later that year. No real point to that anecdote other that he was a thouroughly nice chap. He told me what it was like on the ship that day and it chilled me to the core. RIP LCpl Ian"Scouse" Farrell, Pte Kenny Preston and Major Nutbeem.

Rest in Peace. My condolences to your families for their awful loss.
I was a good runner in the mob. I alway's liked to think I could get out of trouble quicker than what I got into it!
