Wilf Laverack - Hull Branch RAMC Association Standard Bearer

Wilf Died on 4th November 2009 after a battle against cancer. He was 88

I had the privilege of driving Wilf from Hull to Grimsby where he carried the Corps Standard at Andy Gormanly's funeral. He was great company and obviously devoted a great deal of his time to the Corps Association and to the RBL giving up a great deal of his time to sell Poppies each year.

Unfortunately I only heard about Wilf's passing on the morning of his funeral so had no time to post about it but did manage to attend. His cortège was escorted by Standard Bearers from all the major Regimental Associations, the RBL and Merchant Navy Association as well as many fellow Poppy sellers.

Wilf is survived by four daughters and many grandchildren.
