Not quite sure what you were trying to get in focus here? Centre of the flower? Petal detail? I think it loses something from not being able to see the whole flower. Might be better if you had concentrated just on the one bloom as I think having the left hand one included makes it a bit "busy"?

Nice colour detail on the right hand petals of the right hand flower (tulips, right?) though. What set-up are you using to take these?

Those 2 photos were either taken with a Canon EOS 400D & EF-S F/3.5 - 5.6 18 - 55mm (Tulip) or Canon EOS 7D & 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro Mauve? coloured flower

That's a great shot No_Duff. My only criticism would be the slightly distracting background.

I quite like the out of focus background to that pic!
It gives it some reality, rather than a plain background a professional would use.
Just my opinion though :)
